Representatives of as many as 22 sugar mills, including both cooperative and private mills, were present for the meeting.A press release issued after the meeting said that the millers discussed various issues following the demands made by the farmers’ organisations and their agitation, valuation of sugar, loan provided by banks for paying to the farmers, instalments of banks, production cost and expenditure of cutting and transportation.“Considering all the aspects, the millers have come to the conclusion that they are unable to accede to the demand made by farmers until state government provides financial assistance.
