Marathas to take part in public meeting today

The meeting is scheduled to take place at Shahu Sanskrutik Mandir in Market yard area.This is the first public meeting that will be organised this year. Kolhapur: Members of the Maratha organisations are holding a public meeting today to discuss their agenda's for the future course of action.They will be discussing issues regarding the upliftment of the community. "The future strategy of the movement initiated by the community members will be decided in the meeting. A major rally was last held in October last year and since then no major rally has been conducted across the district.Revenue minister Chandrakant Patil is expected to attend the meeting. We expect the state to speed up the legal process and give reservation to the community members in government jobs and educational institutes.

He will be interacting with the people about the initiatives taken by the state government for the benefit of the community.An organising committee member, Avadhoot Patil said, "The meeting is scheduled between 4pm and 8pm. Around 3,000 MP's, MLA's and well known personalities are expected to attend the meeting. We expect the state to speed up the legal process and give reservation to the community members in government jobs and educational institutes."The future strategy of the movement initiated by the community members will be decided in the meeting. Intellectuals and other established leaders are going to guide the delegates.
