Kolhapur: On the backdrop of the current agitation from the anganwadi workers across the state, the state government has asked the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kolhapur Zilla Parishad (ZP) to set up alternative arrangements and resume their operations.Kunal Khemnar, CEO of Kolhapur ZP, told TOI, "We have received an official circular from the higher authorities asking us to make alternative arrangements with the help of gram sevaks, asha workers and the gram panchayat staff."Elaborating on the work of anganwadi Khemnar said, "The workers look after the day-to-day teaching activities of pre-primary students, looking after their meals and meals of the pregnant women in the villages. At present, all these activities are on a halt as the anganwadi workers are on strike. There are talks going on at the government level with the union representatives, however, there is no solution drawn."
