SBSTC bus terminal in Baguiati by 2021 end

The SBSTC is planning to set up a new bus terminus at Baguiati in Kolkata. The new terminal, the construction cost of which has been pegged at Rs 2 crore, s likely to be operational by the end of 2021.

The SBSTC is planning to set up a new bus terminus at Baguiati in Kolkata. The new terminal, the construction cost of which has been pegged at Rs 2 crore, s likely to be operational by the end of 2021.

The PSU, with its office in Durgapur, has a fleet of around 890 buses, and now it plans increased operations from Kolkata for which the new terminal point was chalked out at Baguiati. 

The SBSTC is already running buses to different tourist spots in Bengal and now they have plans for plying buses to other states as well. Moreover, SBSTC is now giving AC buses on hire to private parties.

A senior official said they have already started bus operations to Puri from Durgapur and that they are planning to run similar services from Kolkata and also connect to other states as well.
Godala Kiran Kumar, MD of SBSTC, already held a meeting with the officials for the new terminal at Baguiati. The detailed project report is being planned. Moreover, there will be a parking lot for cars and two-wheelers at the terminal.
