The attempts to link the concept of ‘Love Jihad’ with Sathyasarani in Manjeri, an Islamic Education Centre, was baseless. National chairman of the Front E. Aboobacker told reporters here on Wednesday that the National Investigation Agency’s report to the Home Department, based on which attempts were being made to control the activities of the PFI, was baseless. The allegations against the PFI in the report were based on misconceptions. The organisations mentioned in the report did not have any link with the people who attacked a college lecturer in Muvattupuzha a few years ago. The Popular Front of India (PFI) will organise awareness campaigns across the country on its activities with a view to countering rumours of its alleged links with terror outfits.

more-in The Popular Front of India (PFI) will organise awareness campaigns across the country on its activities with a view to countering rumours of its alleged links with terror outfits. The alleged arms training in Kannur was actually an annual health education programme, he said. On the allegation that a number of PFI members were recruited for the Islamic State (IS) in Iraq and Syria, he said the organisation had over one lakh members, and that 10 people left to join the IS was not a reason to link the organisation with it. “We give our members warning about such outfits. If someone had joined the IS despite the warnings, they are not our members any more,” he said. The attempts to link the concept of ‘Love Jihad’ with Sathyasarani in Manjeri, an Islamic Education Centre, was baseless. “It is not a religious conversion centre,” he added. He added that the attempts to target the Popular Front would be dealt with legally.
