Recently, a prominent English channel aired a news story portraying a street play staged by the Democratic Youth Federation of India as an assault on a woman. Some mediapersons were manufacturing news against their political rivals. The number of socially committed mediapersons was shrinking, the Chief Minister said. Gauri Lankesh About the murder of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh, Mr. Vijayan said the dastardly act was an attack on secular values. She was murdered by those who were intolerant of the values espoused by Gauri, he added. The Chief Minister released a souvenir in memory of Kottumala Bappu Musliyar, the founder chairman of the publication. Mohammed Jiffrey Muthukkoya Thangal, incumbent chairman, was present.
