Bus overturns in UP, police aspirant dies

On getting information police reached there and rescued the injured youths with the help of locals. VARANASI: One youth was killed while 20 others suffered injuries when a UPSRTC affiliated bus overturned in Mirzamurad area on Monday morning. Except the problem faced at treasury the exam at all the centers was conducted peacefully in both shifts on Monday. He said that only two of injured youths, who suffered minor injuries could appear in the constable recruitment exam while others missed it.The UP police constable recruitment examination took place at 63 centers in the district where arrangements were made for 1.64 lakh aspirants. The exam will take place in two shifts also on Tuesday.

VARANASI: One youth was killed while 20 others suffered injuries when a UPSRTC affiliated bus overturned in Mirzamurad area on Monday morning. The youth were heading to Varanasi from Kaushambi and Allahabad districts to appear in police recruitment examination.To take part in UP police constable recruitment examination at different centers in Varanasi a group of youths had boarded a UPSRTC affiliated bus of Kaushambi depot from Kaushambi and Allahabad district after midnight on Sunday. When this bus was passing through Kachhwa Road area under Mirzamurad police station at early morning the driver lost control on steering near a diversion point and the bus overturned.One youth identified as Mohd Aqil Khan (24) of Allahabad died on the spot while 20 others suffered injuries. On getting information police reached there and rescued the injured youths with the help of locals. The injured youths including Ananya Rai (20) and her brother Daurabh Rai (22) of Kaushambi, Deepak Yadav, Manish, Brijesh Sharma, Swapnil and Prateek Vishwakarma were immediately rushed to a local hospital from where they were referred to SPG divisional hospital. On noticing sharp deterioration in health condition of Swapnil and one other youth doctors referred them to trauma center of Banaras Hindu University.The SSP RK Bhardwaj said that the family of Khan had been informed about the incident while senior officials were sent to hospitals, where injured aspirants are admitted, to ensure best possible treatment for them. He said that only two of injured youths, who suffered minor injuries could appear in the constable recruitment exam while others missed it.The UP police constable recruitment examination took place at 63 centers in the district where arrangements were made for 1.64 lakh aspirants. Bhardwaj said that on knowing that process of sending sealed packets of question papers to examination centers from the treasury was getting delayed in morning he reached there and ensured timely departure. Except the problem faced at treasury the exam at all the centers was conducted peacefully in both shifts on Monday. The exam will take place in two shifts also on Tuesday. Bhardwaj said that to avoid any mischief like leakage the crime branch and local intelligence unit personnel have also been engaged to monitor the situation.
