Metro-aided parking lot on LU campus

Soon, a hi-tech parking lot with separate parking lines for two- wheelers and four-wheelers will come up on campus. "Several two-wheelers of my classmates had got stolen from the campus parking lot. Besides, infrastructure is being developed for starting students' facility centre having postal, bus and railway ticket booking services on the campus. LUCKNOW : Students attending classes will not have to worry about the safety of their vehicles parked outside in Lucknow University students will no more be stressed about the security of their vehicles while they are busy attending classes. The V-C further said the student facility centre will be functional from July 9 when the new academic session begins, while the parking lot will come up by the year-end.

Besides, infrastructure is being developed for starting students' facility centre having postal, bus and railway ticket booking services on the campus. Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has agreed in principle with university authorities to support in the development of the student centric facilities on the campus."LMRC has extended support for beautifying and developing a new parking space on the campus. The officials have shown a detailed map of the landscaping and design of the parking lot," said LU vice-chancellor S P Singh.He said the infrastructure worth around Rs 4.5 crore is being developed by LMRC which also helped setting up students' facility centre for students and hostel inmates. The V-C further said the student facility centre will be functional from July 9 when the new academic session begins, while the parking lot will come up by the year-end."Several two-wheelers of my classmates had got stolen from the campus parking lot. There was an urgent need for a well-equipped parking space with proper security. We are hopeful of getting better facilities from the new academic session," said BSc final year student Nidhi Singh.
