Lucknow University gets one more Open University centre

LUCKNOW: In good news for students exploring options to pursue distance learning courses, a regular study centre of Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) will open at Lucknow University on Wednesday.Last year, LU had set up a centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) on the campus. While IGNOU offered 11 courses, UPRTOU will offer around 70 distance courses. This centre will cater to the academic needs of all students of Lucknow and adjoining districts," said LU vice-chancellor SP Singh. Moreover, LU students will also have the option to pursue courses not offered by the university," he added.LU professors will act as academic counsellors for the distance learners. "Students can gain knowledge in a number of fields along with their regular studies with the opening up of the distance learning centre on the campus.
