PM Narendra Modi to begin spree of visits to Uttar Pradesh

To strengthen its hold on dominating OBC votes, the BJP had joined hands with UP minister Om Prakash Rajbhar’s Suheldeo Bhartiya Samaj Party before 2014 Lok Sabha election. The release of postal stamp and addressing a rally of Rajbhars by the BJP chief Amit Shah had been finalised at Varanasi in May. However, even after joining the BJP-led government in the state, Om Prakash Rajbhar remained vocal against CM Yogi Adityanath as well as the decisions of BJP government. The alliance of BJP and SBSP also continued in 2017 assembly polls. LUCKNOW: Raising the political temperature of Uttar Pradesh, the BJP has lined up a series of visits by PM Narendra Modi in different parts of UP soon after results of assembly elections in five states are out on Tuesday.Modi will begin from Rae Bareli, the parliamentary constituency of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, on December 16. The same day, he will visit Allahabad (Prayagraj), Kumbh is scheduled next year.Before PM, Shah was to attend rallyAfter holding a meeting of fraternity in Varanasi Anil, who is considered to be the Rajbhar face of BJP in east UP region, on Sunday left for Mau to hold another meeting of Rajbhar leaders and prominent persons of fraternity to intensify preparations for the proposed event.He said, “On our request, Union minister of state Manoj Sinha had initiated the move to release a postal stamp on Maharaja Suheldeo. The release of postal stamp and addressing a rally of Rajbhars by the BJP chief Amit Shah had been finalised at Varanasi in May. But, due to engagement of top leadership in Karnataka Assembly polls, it was postponed.”“Now, the PM has given his consent to visit Ghazipur to attend the Rajbhar rally and release the postal stamp on great warrior and icon of our fraternity Maharaja Suheldeo”, said Anil. Venue for the proposed event has also been finalised keeping the convenience of Rajbhars of east UP region, he said claiming that Rajbhars will congregate in Ghazipur not only from the east UP but from across the country, on December 29. To find an alternative of SBSP, the BJP leaders promoted Anil Rajbhar, who had joined BJP after starting his political career in Samajwadi Party following demise of his father.Regarding the party’s intention behind holding this event in citadel of Om Prakash Rajbhar, Anil said that the event aimed at hitting multiple targets with single arrow, though he denied commenting on SBSP and its stand.
