LUCKNOW: After attacking the BJP and the Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Saturday attacked Shivpal Yadav alleging that he has been funded by the BJP to launch a political outfit in order to dent the Samajwadi Party under Akhilesh Yadav in the elections. “People who are involved in financial corruption and sell party tickets are accusing me of getting financial help from the BJP,” he added. Shivpal Yadav, who is the national chief of his recently floated Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia (PSP-L) shot back accusing Mayawati of having sided with the BJP in the past.While addressing the media, the BSP chief said that the BJP has funded Akhilesh’s estranged uncle Shivpal Yadav to float a new party so that he could eat into the SP’s vote bank. “But all of this money has gone waste because now Shivpal and his party will not be able to make any difference because of the alliance,” Mayawati said.Reacting sharply to the allegations, Shivpal said that Mayawati had herself sided with the BJP in the past that too after taking the vote and support of the dalits, backwards and Muslims in the elections and was now accusing him of conniving with the BJP.“The SP leadership should keep in mind that she can do the same thing again after these elections,” he said.
