Another murder now a cloth vendor

LUCKNOW: A day after an ice-cream trader was looted and shot at in Naka Hindola, a cloth vendor was found murdered under SGPGI police station on Sunday afternoon. “It seems either he met with an accident or was attacked with a heavy object,” he said.“We have registered a case under murder and loot on the complaint of Rakesh’s family. He was taken to the KGMU trauma centre where doctors declared him brought dead SHO SGPGI Ravindra Nath Rai said there were injury marks on Rakesh’s head and face. The deceased was identified as Rakesh Kumar, 35, a resident of Mohanlalganj.According to the police, Rakesh used to sell readymade clothes on the roadside near Omaxe City office under SGPGI police station. We are waiting for the postmortem report,” SHO added.Rakesh’s family members also staged a protest and blocked Rae Bareli Road for an hour on Sunday afternoon.

He had left his home around 11am on Saturday for the same spot but did not return home.Some passersby spotted Rakesh unconscious near Omaxe City office on Sunday and informed the police. He was taken to the KGMU trauma centre where doctors declared him brought dead SHO SGPGI Ravindra Nath Rai said there were injury marks on Rakesh’s head and face. “It seems either he met with an accident or was attacked with a heavy object,” he said.“We have registered a case under murder and loot on the complaint of Rakesh’s family. The money he was carrying was missing but his goods were found at the spot. We are waiting for the postmortem report,” SHO added.Rakesh’s family members also staged a protest and blocked Rae Bareli Road for an hour on Sunday afternoon. They shouted slogans against the police and demanded swift action in the case.
