LUCKNOW: A group of unidentified miscreants opened fire at a Hazratganj-based garments trader, early Monday morning. The incident marks the fourth attack on a businessman in a span of five days. Police have a case of attempt to murder and recovered a bullet shell from inside the car. The bullet shell would be sent for further examination to the Forensic science Laboratory (FSL).As per police reports, Danish Qureshi, a resident of Aminabad, had gone to his sister’s house in Khadra area. Later, Qureshi and his friend Dilip went to his sister’s house again for dinner.“On our way, we stopped to relieve ourselves alongside the road near Pucca Pul. At 12.45am, unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants approached our car and person who was riding pillion started shooting at the car. The miscreants immediately sped off. They probably thought that I was sitting inside the car,” Qureshi told the police in his complaint.Qureshi said that he suspected that one of his relatives or some businessmen who owed him money were behind the attack. Inspector of Hassanganj police station, Amber Singh, said, “Qureshi’s claims seemed incoherent because of the delay between when he was attacked and when he dialled UP100 for help. Danish owns shops in Hazratganj and Aminabad.”
