Fake arms Top state CBI officials to appear

Before it, court had directed the CBI to conduct through inquiry on issue.The federal agency, after inquiry, apprised the court that photocopies of three arms license, issued in name of three security guards and issued from Doda DM, were submitted to them by SIS official but all were found to be fake.HC, while rejecting anticipatory bail petition of Kumar, had issued directions that DGP would directly monitor the case from his level and ensure completion of investigation within three months.Further, HC had directed that home secretary, after submission of report on the issue by DGP, would take action in accordance with law within a month. PATNA: The home secretary DGP and joint director (Bihar in-charge) of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) would personally appear before Patna high court on Thursday in a case related to the recovery of three fake arms licences from Gopalpur in Bhagalpur on February 10, 2013 which were shown to be issued by district magistrate of Doda in Jammu and Kashmir.The bench of Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah had summoned the three officials after it found that investigation in the case of recovery of fake arms licence was conducted casually and not according to stern directions for the court which were issued looking at the wider ramification on country’s internal security.One Rupesh Kumar, working as private security guard for Security and Intelligence Services (India) Limited (SIS), was booked in an FIR lodged with Gopalpur police station in Bhagalpur on February 10, 2013 after firearm without valid licence, which was on name of the guard, was recovered from the private security firm’s office.Kumar’s anticipatory bail petition was rejected by the high court on September 12, 2018.
