Swine flu 19 more stung in Lucknow in 24 hours

LUCKNOW: A day after 20 swine flu cases were recorded in the city, 19 more positive cases emerged on Thursday. With 39 cases in two days, city’s swine flu count for this year has now touched 173.Among the fresh cases, two patients are from SGPGI campus — a 34-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man.Two patients have been admitted to SGPGI, one in King George’s Medical University and four patients in private hospitals in the city. The remaining patients have been put in isolation at their homes.Of 19 new cases, a 35-yearold woman is from Vishal Khand in Gomtinagar, a 70-year-old woman from Subhash Nagar near Ring Road, a seven-year-old girl from Alambagh , a 16-year-old woman from Motijheel Colony, a 5-year-old boy from Sharda Nagar Yojana colony, a four-year-old girl from Telibagh and a six-year-old boy from Sarojninagar.Some other positive cases were recorded from Kanpur Road, Vishal Khand of Gomtinagar, Aliganj, Alambagh,Vrindavan colony and Indiranagar.According to officials, the strain of the virus circulating in the state this year is milder than before. “It is for this that the mortality rate is low.
