'SP-BSP alliance is a political compulsion'

AGRA: A day after the announcement of a joint rally of Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav at latter’s stronghold in Mainpuri, BJP lawmaker Sangeet Som said that Dalits should ask their leader as to why she is joining hands with a person who wanted to eliminate her.Dubbing the BSP-SP alliance as “political compulsion and opportunism”, Som said the two parties had come together as they feared losing their existence in the state. He also added that the controversial portrait of Jinnah will be removed from the varsity and will be replaced with a picture of Lord Ram.Speaking on the recent Balakoat air strike, Som said that everyone should feel proud that their army had responded to the killing of CRPF jawans inside neighbouring country’s territory and was made possible only because of the storm BJP government. He said that the Samajwadi party chief and Mayawati will not contest themselves and will field their workers only, as they know that they can not win these elections.He also claimed that the Congress will not be able to save its traditional seats of Raibareli and Amethi and the BJP will win 75 seats this time.Targeting Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Som said that the party will not tolerate any anti-national activities there and those who are indulging into such acts will have to face consequences.
