UP Police handle ‘Op Jackal’ with finesse

Lucknow: A low-key operation to bring underworld don Babloo Srivastava from Bareilly central jail to Prayagraj and taking him back by police was given a special codename Operation Jackal.A senior officer said that a secret plan was prepared keeping in view the enmity between Babloo Srivastava and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and other international organizations. He said that under the operation Babloo was kept in Kaushambi jail in the night instead of Naini jail in Prayagraj. Sources said that the route plan was also changed frequently to keep the entire operation a top secret. The don was escorted by a security fleet headed by a deputy SP-rank officer. The convoy left Bareilly around 3.30 pm on Sunday. Babloo was brought to Prayagraj, produced in the court and later sent back to Bareilly. The conoy left Kaushambi at 4 pm on Monday.
