In a significant turn of events ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, Raja Bhaiya, the chief of Jansatta Dal Loktantrik, said that his party would support the Bharatiya Janata Party. Addressing the media at Lok Bhavan on Monday, Raja Bhaiya disclosed that the two votes of Jansatta Dal would be cast in favour of the BJP candidates. Raja Bhaiyas announcement adds momentum to BJPs electoral prospects in the Rajya Sabha polls. BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary exuded confidence, asserting that all eight BJP candidates were poised for victory, citing strength in the assembly. Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party president Om Prakash Rajbhar also expressed optimism, predicting victory for BJPs eighth candidate, Sanjay Seth. Rajbhar asserted that Seth would secure victory with an overwhelming majority of votes. The Samajwadi Party will ensure victory of Seth in this election, he said. Responding to the developments, BJP state vice-president and MLA Pankaj Singh emphasised the organic growth of support for the BJP, saying, There is no need to exert pressure on anyone. People are aligning with us voluntarily. Singh highlighted the participation of all Rashtriya Lok Dal MLAs in the proceedings, further solidifying BJPs position. Ahead of the polls, the BJP held a mock poll at Lok Bhavan on Monday, providing training to MLAs on the voting process.
