In a shocking incident in Saharanpur, a man allegedly shot his pregnant wife and also attempted to kill his younger brother on Tuesday morning. The accused was identified as Zeeshan. However, police were yet to confirm if the woman was pregnant. Reports said Zeeshan suspected that his wife had an affair with his younger brother and that she was pregnant with the latters child. Zeeshans brother reportedly suffered minor injuries in the attack and is admitted in Saharanpurs PGI Medical College. SSP Vipin Tada said the deceased had been identified as Aliya. He said teams had been formed and a manhunt launched for the accused. Preliminary investigations have revealed Zeehan suspected that his wife was in an illicit affair with his younger brother and that she was pregnant with his brothers child. He first killed his wife and then shot at his brother. His wife died on the spot while the brother escaped with minor injuries as the bullet grazed past his neck, the SSP said. He added that the womans medical reports were being looked into and relatives were being questioned to ascertain whether she was pregnant. According to reports, Zeeshan and Aliya married five years ago. Last month, there was a rift between the couple over her alleged affair with her husbands brother. Due to this, she was living with her father in Sarai Mehndi area of Saharanpur. On Tuesday morning, the accused took his wife to an ATM booth in the Mandi Thana area. While the wife was withdrawing money, Zeeshan shot her in the head from behind. A picture has surfaced of the woman lying in a pool of blood inside the ATM booth. The police registered an FIR in this regard and further probe was on. The police said that the body had been sent for autopsy and it would be clear whether or not she was pregnant.
