Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday, said that in the past, Uttar Pradesh used to decide the politics of the country, but today it was deciding the direction of the countrys development.  Addressing a public meeting in Manduri, Prime Minister Modi said: Ever since the double-engine government came to power in the state, both the picture and destiny of UP have changed. UP is among the best performing states in implementing the Centres schemes. It is also one of the frontline states within the country. Earlier, the prime minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 782 development projects worth Rs 34,700 crore. This includes the inauguration of new airports in five districts of the state (Azamgarh, Shravasti, Moradabad, Chitrakoot and Aligarh), the new terminal of Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow, as well as the Maharaja Suheldev Rajbhar State University in Azamgarh. On this occasion, he said: It is Modis guarantee that Azamgarh will remain a bastion of development till eternity. Praising Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the prime minister said that in the last few years, development works worth lakhs of crores of rupees had been carried out in UP, noting the significant transformation witnessed in the infrastructure sector and creation of millions of new opportunities for the youth. Today UP is being recognised by record investment and groundbreaking ceremonies. The states network of expressways and better law and order are the talking points in the country. The centuries-old wait for Ram temple in Ayodhya has also ended. With the development of Varanasi, Mathura and Kushinagar, tourism has increased rapidly in UP, benefitting the entire state. The guarantee given 10 years ago is being fulfilled today, he said. The prime minister stated that as UP continues to scale new heights of development with each passing day, the poison of appeasement is also weakening in the state. Substantiating his argument, Prime Minister Modi remarked that in the last elections, the people of Azamgarh demolished the belief of dynasts that Azamgarh was their stronghold by electing a young man like Dinesh. That is why the family members are so upset. They are abusing Modi every day. They are saying that Modi does not have his own family. They forget that Modis family is 140 crore people of the country. Today, voices are coming from every corner of India with everyone declaring that I am Modis family, he said. The prime minister appealed to people to ensure that the National Democratic Alliance crossed the 400 mark in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. He described the launch of projects in Azamgarh as a celebration of development. The prime minister said: In the past, programmes were typically organised in Delhi with participation from various states across the country. However, the current scenario sees programmes being hosted in Azamgarh, attracting thousands of attendees from all over the nation. Azamgarh, once regarded as a backward area, is now spearheading a new era of development for the country. The prime minister said that earlier leaders used to make announcements that never came to fruition while today the government was inaugurating all the projects the foundation stones of which it laid in 2019. He reiterated his resolve to make the country Viksit Bharat by 2047.    Prime Minister Modi said that after reducing travel time between Lucknow and Azamgarh to two and a half hours through the Purvanchal Expressway, arrangements had been made for ships to dock in Azamgarh. Besides, with the construction of a medical college and university, there is no need for the youth to travel to Varanasi to pursue higher education, he added. The prime minister lashed out at the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance for doing caste and appeasement politics and indulging in nepotism for decades, pointing out that the development of Azamgarh today was giving them sleepless nights.  He said: This area has also been witnessing the politics of development for the last 10 years. It has gained momentum in the last seven years under the leadership of Yogi ji. The people here were witness to mafia rule and fundamentalism in the past, and today they are seeing the establishment of rule of law. The prime minister said that the planning for urbanisation in India, which should have been done 30 years ago, was not done. He added: We are taking urbanisation forward in the form of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. This vision of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas is the basic mantra of the double-engine government. Increasing connectivity is going to write a golden future for the farmers, youth and entrepreneurs of Purvanchal. The prime minister said ensuring the right price for the farmers produce was the priority of the government. The remunerative price for sugarcane farmers has also been increased by eight per cent this year. Now the remunerative price of sugarcane has increased from Rs 315 to Rs 340 per quintal, he informed. Prime Minister Modi said that previously governments tormented farmers and paid money to them after driving them to desperation. Sugar was sold to mills at throwaway prices. The Bharatiya Janata Party government has cleared the dues worth thousands of crores of sugarcane farmers. Sugarcane farmers are getting the right price at the right time. The government has given emphasis in many other areas for the sugarcane farmers. Ethanol is being produced from sugarcane and biogas is being made from straw, he stated. The prime minister said that about eight lakh farmers of Azamgarh alone had received Rs 2,000 crore from PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, underscoring the governments right intentions and honesty. He said that during the previous governments, Azamgarh and Purvanchal suffered from backwardness, while terror and muscle power were protected. On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, BJP state president and MLC Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, state government ministers, MPs and MLAs were present.   The prime minister inaugurated and laid foundation stone of following projects: -Inaugurated new terminals of Azamgarh, Shravasti, Moradabad, Chitrakoot and Aligarh airports of Uttar Pradesh and Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport of Lucknow, constructed at a cost of Rs 3,628 crore. -Inaugurated Maharaja Suhail Dev State University constructed at a cost Rs 108 crore. -Inaugurated and laid foundation stones of five national highway projects worth Rs 11,500 crore. -Inaugurated 744 roads (5,342 km) worth Rs 3,702 crore in 59 districts under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. -Inaugurated new terminal buildings at Jabalpur, Gwalior, Pune, Kolhapur, Delhi and Adampur airports. -Inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 12 railway projects worth Rs 8,176 crore. -Inaugurated three sewerage projects worth Rs1,114 crore under Namami Gange. -Inaugurated 1,040 flats in Lucknow under the four tower light house project with 13 floors in 47,827 square metres at a cost of Rs 131 crore.
