A 25-year-old man stabbed his brother to death over parking a motorcycle in Mirpur village of Sultanpur, police said on Tuesday. Vipin parked his motorcycle in a bylane on Monday night. His elder brother Sandeep Kumar (35) objected to this and an altercation broke out between them, the police said. Their mother tried to intervene but the fight escalated. Vipin brought a knife from his home and stabbed Sandeep in a fit of rage, the police said. Villagers took him to the community health centre in Motigarpur where doctors pronounced Sandeep dead. Superintendent of Police Somen Barma said the body has been sent for autopsy. In January, a 65-year-old woman was arrested in Sultanpur for allegedly murdering her six-year-old granddaughter. According to police, accused Sudama Devi was angry over the public humiliation she suffered at the hands of her daughter-in-law Pooja. Sudama Devi took the girl for a walk one evening and later some villagers spotted Sudama pushing the girl into a well. With the assistance of police, the girl was retrieved and rushed to a local health centre, but doctors failed to revive her. The victims father Santosh had filed a complaint against Sudama Devi following which she was arrested. Police said, Neighbours recounted an argument between Pooja and Sudama in the morning. Poojas alleged derogatory comments about Sudamas son and family, made in front of onlookers, seemed to have fuelled the womans rage. Hours later, Sudama left the house with the girl and committed the crime.
