Yogi reviews preparations for Ram Navami, Navratri

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday, reviewed the preparations for Ram Navami and Navratri with senior officials in Ayodhya. He issued directives for 24-hour darshan and worship at the Ram Lalla temple on Ashtami, Navami and Dashami of Navratri. To facilitate this, the chief minister instructed officials to coordinate with members of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust. He emphasised that during this period, the temple doors should only be closed for special worship ceremonies. In preparation of Ram Navami, the chief minister directed officials to make arrangements of electric buses for devotees in collaboration with the UP State Road Transport Corporation. Furthermore, he stressed on maintaining cleanliness in the city, provision of drinking water, and heat mitigation for public convenience, highlighting the necessity of coordination with the Urban Development department for these efforts. The chief minister specified that arrangements should ensure that the devotees do not have to walk more than two and a half kilometres. Additionally, provisions should be made for keeping their shoes and slippers at locations such as Tulsi Udyan, he added. The chief minister pointed out that election activities would coincide with the Ram Navami festival. Therefore, he suggested that police personnel and other essential service providers should be placed on permanent duty at key locations such as the Ram Lalla temple and Hanuman Garhi during this period, and they be exempted from election duty. District Magistrate Nitish Kumar gave a presentation to the chief minister detailing the preparations for the Ram Navami. The presentation covered major initiatives undertaken by various departments, including the Public Works, Health, Information, Cultural Affairs, General Administration and Mela Administration departments, municipal corporation and electricity administration. The district magistrate said that better arrangements had been made this year than last year. On behalf of the police administration, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajkaran Nayyar informed Chief Minister Yogi about the parking and traffic arrangements. Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal noted that since the consecration of the Ram temple, the number of devotees coming for darshan was continuously increasing. He said keeping in mind the facilities of all, the municipal corporation, development authority, Health department had been directed to work in a better way. Regarding police arrangements, Inspector General of Police Praveen Kumar said that if necessary, arrangements for additional police force would be made. The chief minister emphasised the importance of policemen maintaining good behaviour towards the devotees. In addition to Additional Director General of Police, Zone, Amarendra Singh Sengar, the meeting was attended by MP Lallu Singh, Mayor Mahant Girishpati Tripathi, District Panchayat Chairperson Roli Singh and MLAs Vedprakash Gupta, Ramchander Yadav and Dr Amit Singh Chauhan. Also present were Bharatiya Janata Partys district president Sanjeev Singh, mahanagar president Kamlesh Srivastava and other leaders of the party. Senior officials of various departments were also in attendance.
