Training camp on new criminal laws

As per the calendar of Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority, Ranchi, District Legal Services Authority Lohardaga organized a training session on the Indian Justice Code, Indian Evidence Act, and the Indian Justice Act, being implemented from 1st July 2024 to the para legal volunteers and LADCS advocates at Dalsa Conference Hall on Sunday. The participants present were made aware of the new law by discussing various provisions of the Indian Civil Defense Code. Rajesh Kumar, Secretary of the Authority, pointed out that ignorance of the law never reduces the punishment for a crime. Indian Judicial Code which will replace the Indian Penal Code. A total of 358 sections have been kept in it. Whereas the Indian Civil Defense Code, which will replace the CrPC, has 531 sections. Whereas there are total 170 sections in the Indian Evidence Act. Keeping the old provisions in the new law, new provisions regarding forensic investigation and arrest etc. have been added. Similarly, the new sections 144 and 145 of IPC, which are pending in the SDO court, will be under new sections 163 and 164.    Similarly, the prevalent Section 302 of death penalty will now be known as Section 103 in the new law. Section 307 which deals with attempt to murder will be known as Section 109 in the new law. Section 498A which deals with harassment of women will be the new section 85. Whereas 376 which is the section related to rape, the new section will be 64. The section of dowry death which was earlier 304B will be known as the new section 80. The trainees were given information about criminal case investigation, trial and how the case reaches judgment. Which was mainly told to the people by Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Raj Kalyan. Similarly, how civil courts work in civil suits. This information was given by Senior Civil Judge Archana Kumari. Before this, the program was inaugurated by Principal District and Sessions Judge Co-Chairman Dalsa Rajendra Bahadur Pal Saptnik, Principal Judge Family Court Shri Subhash, District Judge Arvind Kumar and other judicial officers by jointly lighting the lamp. The curiosity about the new law was so much that the families of judicial officers also attended the program.    The PLVs also mentioned the work being done by them. Addressing the session, PDJ cum Dalsa President Rajendra Bahadur Pal said that it is only because of the hard work of PLV that the work of the Legal Services Authority is accomplished. A lot of work is being done by them. The issue of increase in their pay scale etc. is in the cognizance of Jhalsa and NALSA, for which some solution will be found soon. PLB working in Lohardaga district jointly presented his photo made in oil painting to Principal District and Sessions Judge cum Chairman Dalsa Rajendra Bahadur Pal and his wife Mrs. Poonam Pal. What cultural programs were organized after the completion of the educational program? All the judicial officers, their families and PLBs took part in the Holi Milan ceremony. Everyone applied gulal to each other and wished Happy Holi.
