Fearing encounter by the police, Javed, an accused in the Budaun double murder case, finally surrendered in Bareilly on Wednesday night. To further ensure that the cops later did not hatch an encounter theory, Javed made the video of his surrender viral on social media. The police later confirmed the arrest of Javed. Claiming arrest of Javed, police officials claimed that he was attempting to escape towards Nepal via Bareilly when he was nabbed. The Bareilly police handed him over to the Pilibhit police. In the video, Javed is heard saying, I ran straight to Delhi and from there I have come to Bareilly to surrender. I have received phone calls from people about what my brother did. The police had announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 on Javed. Another accused, Sajid, was killed in a police encounter. Two young brothers, aged 11 and 6, were killed by Javed and Sajid in Budaun on Tuesday night. Another brother of the slain siblings was also injured in the attack but he somehow pushed the killers and rushed towards the room. The assailants, identified as Sajid and his brother Javed, allegedly carried out the heinous act at the victims residence. However, the motive behind the murder still remains a mystery.
