After being denied ticket by the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership, Varun Gandhi has penned an emotional letter to the voters of his constituency, reaffirming his enduring connection with Pilibhit, not just as a Member of Parliament but as a devoted son. In his heartfelt message, Varun reminisced about his first encounter with Pilibhit as a three-year-old child in 1983, holding his mothers hand. Today as I am writing this letter, countless memories have made me emotional. I remember that 3-year-old little boy who came to Pilibhit for the first time in 1983 holding his mothers finger; how did he know that one day this land would become his workplace and the people here would become his family, he wrote Expressing his gratitude, Varun acknowledged his good fortune in serving the people of Pilibhit for years. He credited the values of simplicity and kindness instilled in him by Pilibhit for shaping not only his tenure as an MP but also his personal growth. While acknowledging the end of his tenure as an MP, Varun vowed that his bond with Pilibhit would persist until his last breath. He pledged to continue serving the constituency, not in his official capacity but as a devoted son, with his doors always open to the people. I came into politics to raise the voice of the common man and today I seek your blessings to always continue doing this work, no matter what the cost, he said. Varun reiterated his commitment to championing the voices of the common people, and sought their blessings to continue this noble endeavour regardless of the challenges he may face. Emphasising the depth of his relationship with Pilibhit, Varun highlighted that it transcends mere political considerations and is rooted in love and trust. He affirmed, I was, am, and will always be yours. Varuns mother Maneka Gandhi initially won the Pilibhit seat in 1989 on a Janata Dal ticket and subsequently as an Independent candidate in 1998 and 1999, before securing victories as a BJP candidate in 2004 and 2014. Varun Gandhi clinched the seat in 2009 and 2019 under the BJP banner.
