Another front of three parties formed in UP

Apna Dal (Kamerawadi), a former ally of the Samajwadi Party, has joined hands with the new opposition front, the PDM Nyay Morcha. for the Lok Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh. The PDM stands for Pichhda, Dalit and Muslim. The three allies of PDM Nyay Morcha are Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Rashtra Uday Party and Pragatisheel Manav Samaj Party. The front announced here on Sunday that it will contest the Lok Sabha elections together in UP.  The alliance will counter the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) social coalition of the SP. Apna Dal (K) leader Pallavi Patel said the disadvantaged sections of society needed a new leadership. Unlike the flop-flop by the SP over A in PDA, we have clearly named M as Muslim in PDM. For Akhilesh Yadav A sometimes stands for adivasi or adhi abadi and sometimes alpsankhyak, Pallavi Patel said.  The announcement of the new front was made here at a press conference in which AIMIM chief Owaisi was also present.  Patel had met Owaisi in Hyderabad three days ago. On March 23, the Apna Dal (K) withdrew candidates from the three Lok Sabha constituencies – Phulpur, Mirzapur and Kaushambi – in Uttar Pradesh, three days after making the announcement of candidates.  The announcement of candidates had led to the collapse of the Apna Dal (K) alliance with the SP. Earlier, the party had said that it wanted to contest three Lok Sabha seats as part of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) in Uttar Pradesh. The Apna Dal (K) had contested the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly polls in alliance with the SP and Pallavi Patel had contested the election on the symbol of the SP. The alliance between Apna Dal (K) and AIMIM came following a rift between the former and the SP during the recent Rajya Sabha election. Patel had insisted that she would only vote for the PDA candidate Ramaji Lal Suman of the SP. Meanwhile, the SP and the Congress have already finalised the seat sharing in UP under which the SP will contest 67 Lok Sabha seats and the Congress 17. Polling for Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases from April 19 to June 1. The counting of votes will be taken up on June 4.
