| The dynamic workforce of Uttar Pradesh not only significantly contributes to the states infrastructure development through its dedication and skills but also holds sway in shaping governmental policies. Acknowledging this pivotal role of the workforce, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the double-engine government has implemented various schemes aimed at benefiting workers across all sectors. As a result, the states labour force has emerged as a strong supporter of the BJP-led government. Reflecting on the strides made for workers during CM Yogis seven-year tenure, theres confidence that the promise of 80 out of 80 made by the CM will be fortified by the steadfast support of the workforce. Amidst closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh, who were employed in other states, returned home. During this period, Chief Minister Yogi pledged to provide employment to these workers within the state and delivered on his promise. A comprehensive skill mapping initiative encompassing around 38 lakh workers was undertaken. As per data from the Sewayojan Portal, employment opportunities were extended to 1,047,522 workers. Furthermore, 950,042 individuals found employment in the private sector through Rozgar Melas. The Mission Rozgar initiative benefitted 116,285,61 workers/candidates. Furthermore, over 58,622,55,304 man-days were generated, ensuring sustainable livelihoods. Moreover, 33,070 construction sites were registered by December 2023. At the same time, since the formation of the BOC Board, until the month of December 2023, a total of 3,66,953 construction sites were registered. Additionally, the number of workers registered in Uttar Pradesh on the e-Shram portal of the Government of India, facilitated by the Uttar Pradesh Unorganised Workers Social Security Board, has surged to 8,33,25,459 as of January 23, 2024, making Uttar Pradesh the frontrunner in this regard nationwide. The governments initiative to establish Atal Residential Schools for the children of construction workers, providing residential education for over three years, has commenced its second session. This endeavour has eased the burden of education expenses for the workers children and lightened their overall financial obligations. Moreover, 1,45,912 candidates benefitted from the BOCW Board, with expenditures amounting to Rs 714.65 crore. Furthermore, workers receive the added benefit of free rations.
