Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, on Monday, called for forging a collective strategy and making a united effort to oust the Mahayuti alliance from power in Maharashtra in the upcoming assembly elections. Akhilesh also slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is part of the Mahayuti alliance along with the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party, and expressed his commitment to defeating the enemies of Maharashtra and bringing about a positive change. Akhilesh Yadav, whose party won two seats in the last Maharashtra polls and is eying a bigger share in the seat-sharing talks with its alliance partners, took to social media to share a note addressed to the dear people of the state and media persons. With your awareness, the Maharashtra assembly elections will liberate Maharashtra from the BJPs conspiracies of sabotage and its negative politics of communalism. The BJPs negative politics is unable to understand the positive strategy and mutual adjustment of the united opposition. The SP chief accused the BJP of having destroyed the historic harmony and brotherhood of Maharashtras society as well as the political parties. The BJP wants to weaken Maharashtra economically, socially and politically, so that the reins of the countrys economic leadership can be snatched from Maharashtra and given to someone else, he added. The former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh said the political, social and economic consciousness that has awakened among the people of Maharashtra and media persons who protect the states interests would not allow this ploy of the BJP to succeed. The BJPs mega-corruption did not spare even the statues of great men. Political patronage was given to those who violated the honour of girls. The combined power of the aware and progressive people of Maharashtra will defeat both the deceit and fraud of BJP, Akhilesh Yadav said. A joint and organised political strategy will bring an end to the Mahadukhi period of the BJP-led Mahayuti. Committed and determined to defeat the enemies of Maharashtra and bring about positive change, Akhilesh Yadav said. The Mahayuti alliance has reportedly given a green signal to 276 seats ahead of the assembly polls. But there are a dozen seats where all three parties — BJP, Eknath Shinde faction of Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar faction of NCP – are refusing to let go of their claim. Elections to the 288-member Maharashtra assembly will be held on November 20 and votes will be counted on November 23.
