It's time for `Make in Uttar Pradesh'

Uttar Pradesh is indeed going through the industrial reformation that it needed from some time." Yogi believes that Uttar Pradesh is a major contributor of the agricultural sector when it comes to grains like wheat, rice and also sugarcane.

LUCKNOW: All eyes have been set on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath , as he heads the BJP government that came into power after a gap of 15 years in Uttar Pradesh . Here's a look at few of the key decisions made in the first 100 days of his tenure.It has been just 100 days since Yogi Adityanath took over as the chief minister of the country's most populous state --Uttar Pradesh. Needless to say, all eyes have been set on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, as he heads the BJP government that came into power after a gap of 15 years in the state. The seemingly unconventional CM has treaded the path less travelled ever since he took oath as chief minister.He has often been seen taking inspiration from the Prime Minister. One such example is the Centre's 'Make in India' initiative. The Yogi government has proposed setting up of 'Make in Uttar Pradesh' on the same lines.Uttar Pradesh is endowed with natural wealth in abundance; Yogi aims to manoeuvre these resources towards industrial development of the state. The chief minister asked a group of ministers to travel across the country and gather inputs to draft the industrial policy 2017. Finally, he set up the 'Industrial Investment and Employment promotion policy of 2017' draft which proposes to set up a department tasked with creating industry and sectorspecific investment.Yogi has also come up with a 'State Investment Promotion Board' in which all new industrial units, shall be eligible for interest free loan equivalent to the sum of VAT and Central Sales Tax paid or 10% of the total sale in the year, whichever is less, for 10 years from the date of first sale repayable after 7 years from date of disbursement.Adityanath has decided on taking actions against those defaulters who have been allotted industrial plots but haven't set up industries, thus defeating the purpose of providing cheap land for industrialisation. "Besides everything, Industrial development is one of the major contributors for a state to prosper and Yogi has made sure to include it as one of the most essential parts of his agenda. Uttar Pradesh is indeed going through the industrial reformation that it needed from some time." said Dr Shashwat Singh from Noida.Yogi government has given the required attention to the Industrial security in Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister has promised to establish integrated police cum fire stations in industrial clusters for safe and secure industrial areas. One of the most unique projects adopted by the government includes establishing a one thousand acre theme park, called Seven Cities. As the name indicates, the theme park would depict the history and culture of seven cities of different eras. The park would have seven star luxury hotels, small hotels and restaurants and a convention centre, gaming zones, a mono-rail, and a whole lot of attractions for the tourists.The government has promised to develop new airports, and expressed the intent to construct a 'road corridor' to connect Mathura to Varanasi and Jhansi to Gorakhpur . It further promised to promote development of new industrial and food parks. Yogi, as he remarked in one of his meetings, "It is necessary to create an atmosphere of investment in the state." is definitely working towards living up to his words.The much awaited Lucknow-Agra expressway was taken over by Yogi from the previous government and completed in the month of May. The expressway has made it extremely convenient for people travelling frequently from Delhi to Lucknow. Yogi believes that Uttar Pradesh is a major contributor of the agricultural sector when it comes to grains like wheat, rice and also sugarcane. To catalyse the development of this sector, Yogi has provided free loans to small scale food processing firms.Employment is one of the most important concerns of the densely populated state that Uttar Pradesh is. Yogi government, associating employment needs with that of industrial needs has slotted parts of mega investment projects into three categories and three regions. Mega, Mega Plus and super Mega investment projects in western, central and eastern Uttar Pradesh have been planned to be taken up.Shivangi Singh, a student, said, "We are expecting Uttar Pradesh to grow in a manner like never before. Everyday day there is something new being planned by the government. With so many industrial projects and corridors being taken up by UPSIDC, a new face of Uttar Pradesh is going to be witnessed soon."Strict implementation of ban on illegal slaughterhouses Formation of anti-Romeo squads to stop eve-teasing and harassment of girls in the state. Biometric attendance in all government offices and that all officials should reach office by 10 AM.Ban on use of paan masala and polythene in government offices. The grant for Mansarovar pilgrimage increased from ` 50,000 to ` 1 lakh, along with directions for construction of Mansarovar Bhavan near New Delhi for pilgrims .He directed Public Works Department officials to ensure all state roads are pothole-free .Provide non-stop electricity during Navaratra, Ram Navmi and facilities to devotees at Shaktipeetha during the nine-day festival.Yogi Adityanath waived loans of ` 36,359 crore taken by about 94 lakh small and marginal farmers in the state With a focus on rural healthcare, he said that the MBBS graduates should give their services in village Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs) for at least two years.
