After 7 year gap, IIM Lucknow to conduct CAT 2017

For the 2017 CAT, IIML has already uploaded a notification regarding tenders for advertisement services for CAT 2017 on their official website. LUCKNOW: After conducting the Common Admission Test (CAT) for 2016, Indian Institute of Management , Bangalore has given the responsibility to IIM-Lucknow to conduct CAT this year. In another controversy, there was an alleged paper leak during the second slot of CAT 2016 in one of the centres in Mumbai. The schedule of CAT 2017 will be announced by July end.

LUCKNOW: After conducting the Common Admission Test (CAT) for 2016, Indian Institute of Management , Bangalore has given the responsibility to IIM-Lucknow to conduct CAT this year. The examination, which is a gateway to MBA admissions in 19 IIMs and 150 other institutes, will be conducted in October and November, 2017. Prof Neeraj Dwivedi from IIML has been appointed as the CAT 2017 convener IIML will be conducting CAT this year after a gap of seven years. It had earlier conducted CAT in 2010 when Prof Himanshu Rai , faculty of Human Resource Management was the convener. For the 2017 CAT, IIML has already uploaded a notification regarding tenders for advertisement services for CAT 2017 on their official website. CAT 2017 convener Prof Dwivedi is presently chairperson, admissions and is a faculty of strategic management at IIML.Close to 2.50 lakh MBA aspirants are expected to register for the test. In 2016, 2.32 lakh candidates had applied for the test. Sources said, IIML is likely to introduce a few changes in the exam structure. The schedule of CAT 2017 will be announced by July end. Registrations will continue till October 2017 and the exam will be held in November/December 2017.Every year, IIMs are given the task of conducting CAT on rotational basis. In 2015, IIM Ahmedabad conducted the CAT while for two previous consecutive years, 2014 and 2013, IIM Indore was the organising institute for CAT. The CAT 2016 wasn't free from glitches as some candidates claimed that three questions in the quantitative ability (QA) section showed 'Pi' symbol on their computer screens instead of what should have ideally been a 'square root'.
