He found his way through the struggles-worked as a child labourer and could not study beyond grade VII. But now Gupta is contesting for corporator's post in Maithli Sharan Gupt ward in Indiranagar. Using unique ways of campaigning when meeting people door to door, children in his campaign team perform a street play called 'Neta Nagri'. The campaign material comprises Gupta's cut-outs along with handwritten posters and slogans, projecting him as Aam Aadmi, since he is contesting on an AAP ticket.Manmohan Singh 'Monu' is famous as 'Bhature wale bhaiya' in LDA Colony. This gastronomical connect has become the core of campaigning for his wife Khushdeep Kaur, who is contesting as an independent from Hind Nagar ward. Khushdeep is a homemaker banking on the popularity of her husband and his mouth-watering choley bhature. The major part of campaigning is at Monu's shop, given the large number of customers.The stench of a perennially overflowing drain near his house for over 35 years pushed this doctor to enter the poll arena. Dr Deepak Dikshit, a KGMU alumnus, runs a pathology centre on Park Road. He is contesting as an independent candidate to rid his ward of unhygienic conditions which have been prevailing for years.Every time he visits a rural area, Kamran Beg is greeted as 'Masterji'. Beg teaches farmers the art of agriculture. He is contesting on a Samajwadi Party ticket from Nazarbagh. Beg teaches farmers techniques of crop cultivation, saving their yield from insects and other intricacies of agriculture. 'Masterji' learnt the nuances of farming from his father who was a professional agriculture trainer.A self-claimed fashion designer, Rubina Rehman is well known among the women of her ward in Aishbagh. She is sought after for her sketches-the woman can draw latest fashion trends on paper within minutes. Rubina has no formal education in fashion designing; she started sketching as a hobby. Given her popularity, Congress has fielded her from this ward.Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi , this 'chaiwala' from Asharfabad ward has put his tea making stall to test in the civic polls.
