This man named Vadivel told that he had caught the snake in a field and killed it before eating. Vadivel is a resident of Perumalpatti village in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu.

According to the information, after watching the viral video, environmentalists alerted the police and demanded action. After which the police have identified and arrested the accused. Wildlife officials have expressed their grief after watching the viral video and said that it is extremely harmful to be involved in such activities.

However, Madurai District Forest Officer S Anand, Madurai district forest officer from Madurai, told that at the time of the incident he was drunk and other people had instigated him to eat snakes.
