The Bandra Kurla Complex(BKC) police have arrested two people who duped car owners under the pretext of buying their vehicles. After negotiating the price of the car, the duo would show a fake message of the money being sent online to the owners before getting away with the car. According to the police, the duo would contact the car sellers via a web portal. "On April 12, we had received a complaint from Khalid Shaikh who told us that Ayaaz Sayyed and his aide Arif duped him. We traced the accused through the internet protocol of their computer and arrested them," said Kalpana Gadekar, senior police inspector of BKC police station.

The Bandra Kurla Complex(BKC) police have arrested two people who duped car owners under the pretext of buying their vehicles. According to the police, the duo would contact the car sellers via a web portal. They would show an interest to buy their cars and meet them in person. After negotiating the price of the car, the duo would show a fake message of the money being sent online to the owners before getting away with the car. The complainant had approached the police last month. "On April 12, we had received a complaint from Khalid Shaikh who told us that Ayaaz Sayyed and his aide Arif duped him. On scrutinising the modus operandi, we learnt that several other cases have been registered against the duo in eight police stations and started tracing them," said a police officer from BKC police station. "Aarif and Sayyed would cheat victims by posing as a potential buyer of the four-wheeler car, produce fake personal and bank documents to show his legitimacy and dupe them of the car's resale value. We traced the accused through the internet protocol of their computer and arrested them," said Kalpana Gadekar, senior police inspector of BKC police station. MODUS OPERANDI
