Senior State Congress leader Girish Chodankar said, “The CM, who is also the State Home Minister, has to answer these questions. It is beyond imagination that 100 kg of Ketamine was seized in Goa from an industrial plot belonging to BJP office bearer Vasudev Parab. Mr. Parab has been given seven days to respond. Goa Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Siddanath Buyao said the party has taken the issue up with the State Director General of Police. This clearly indicates that the Goa Police has failed, or have been providing protection.”Meanwhile, the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) issued a show cause notice to Mr. Parab, from whose industrial unit in Pissurlem Industrial Estate the Ketamine was seized last week.

more-in Panaji: The Congress on Tuesday questioned Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s silence on the seizure of party drug Ketamine from a factory in North Goa, allegedly linked to a BJP office bearer. Mr. Parrikar had said the case is with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). Senior State Congress leader Girish Chodankar said, “The CM, who is also the State Home Minister, has to answer these questions. Why did he refuse to respond to media queries? His silence cannot be tolerated as it is about our future generations. It is beyond imagination that 100 kg of Ketamine was seized in Goa from an industrial plot belonging to BJP office bearer Vasudev Parab. This clearly indicates that the Goa Police has failed, or have been providing protection.” Meanwhile, the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) issued a show cause notice to Mr. Parab, from whose industrial unit in Pissurlem Industrial Estate the Ketamine was seized last week. BJP MLA Glenn Ticlo, who is also chairperson, GIDC, said, “We have issued a show cause notice to Vasudev Parab on Tuesday, asking him why his industrial plot should not be taken back, because media reports have said that a DRI raid had seized ketamine being manufactured there,” The show cause notice comes a day after Mr. Parrikar ruled out a State government probe into the drug haul. Mr. Parab has been given seven days to respond. Goa Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Siddanath Buyao said the party has taken the issue up with the State Director General of Police.
