Mumbaikars stand with their Kerala brethren

Mumbai: As Kerala battles floods caused by incessant rain, a number of Mumbaikars have come forward to donate essential commodities, and also to contribute to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The Hindu has compiled a list of collection points. The Coast Guard is sending a ship with relief material from Mumbai, for which collection points are open till 3 p.m. on Saturday. Among those working in this direction include Loka Kerala Sabha, Kerala Samaj, students at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Indian Medical Association, Sri Narayana Mandira Samiti, Chembur, Karunya Trust, an NGO in Powai, Mira Road (E)-based NGO GOONJ, and Dombivli-based Goodwin Charitable Trust. Requirements include sanitary napkins and diapers, antiseptic liquid, mosquito repellents, sterile cotton, paracetamol, betadine ointment, gauze roll, bandage, and basic medicines such as amoxiclav, cetirizine and pantoprazole.
