Mumbai: Grant Road heritage church to mark 150 years at own cost
| Saturday | 12th January, 2019
Parishioners of a Grant Road-based church will soon mark 150 years of the Emmanuel Church — CNI.
According to the members, the church was first located in the Fort area and it later shifted to Grant Road.
Located in the by lanes of south Mumbai’s Grant Road, a large part of the Maharashtrian community is the member of the church.
The church completed 150 years on January 10 and the cost of the celebrations will be borne by the parioshioners alone.
The church — one of the city’s heritage structures — was built in the year 1869 and is dedicated to the Marathi congregation.
