MNS chief Raj Thackeray appeals for calm, police warn against any mischief

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Wednesday again appealed his party workers not to come at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office today where he is summoned for inquiry in connection with Kohinoor Mill deal. Thackeray in a statement said that he was disturbed by the news of his party worker Pravin Chaugule's suicide. "I hope that all our party workers will understand the situation. We have gone through such tough situations earlier too. This phase will also pass on. We should not damage any private and government property. We should not take any such step that will disrupt the common people's life. I will answer all questions of ED," Thackeray said. Meanwhile, the Mumbai police issued notices to MNS workers asking them not to take law in hand and warned any disruption of public order will then invite strict actions against responsible party workers. "Earlier we had planned a large numbers of our party workers at ED office. But Raj saheb asked not to come to Mumbai. But we want to show our solidarity so only office-bearer of MNS will come to Mumbai," said an MNS leader.
