Headmistress, teachers suspended after minor`s rape

The action was taken in the wake of the rape of a minor student on the school premises. District education officer (secondary education) has been asked to investigate the matter and submit a detailed report at the earliest.

CHANDIGARH: Punjab education minister Daljit Singh Cheema, on Wednesday, suspended headmistress Joginder Kaur and two other teachers, Tarwinder Kaur and Yojna Sharma of Government High School, Sanet with immediate effect. The action was taken in the wake of the rape of a minor student on the school premises. District education officer (secondary education) has been asked to investigate the matter and submit a detailed report at the earliest.

"School heads will be directly responsible for any kind of anti-social activities. Maintenance of discipline on the school premises is the sole responsibility of the school head," he said..
