Srirangapatna (MYSURU): Elections have got over and the new coalition government has already taken over in Karnataka . But two boys, who got grievously injured during Congress campaign, have still not recovered, with one of them being bed-ridden.The incident took place on 23rd March 2018, during Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s road show in Srirangapatna.Congress activists were pumping a balloon with helium gas when Madesh (10) from Kaveripur and Rahul (15) were on their way back home after writing their 10th (SSLC) exam.The helium-filled balloon accidentally burst, and the boys, who were in the vicinity, got badly injured. They were later admitted to hospital.While Rahul has since recovered marginally, Madesh’s condition is very bad. He can’t eat by himself and needs assistance from his parents. He can’t walk. For the daily call of nature as well, he needs support as he is bed-ridden.After getting treatment for about a month in Mysuru private hospital, he is now getting nursed in his home as he needs constant care.As per doctors, Madesh’s treatment would last for al least three months more. His burn injuries need medicine application 4 times a day.Former MLA A.B.Ramesha Bandisiddegowda has borne all hospital expenses of Madesh. Karnataka Congress unit has also donated Rs 25,000.“But we can’t afford the medical costs now. Nobody came to see us after Madesh was discharged from hospital. Now that he is getting treated at home, nobody has offered us any help,” reveals Madesh’s father Kumar, requesting help from public.As far as Rahul is concerned, he can now walk. But he still two months away from full recovery. He can’t go outside as burn injuries have not healed yet. His right arm is still not in his control.“Bandisiddegowda paid my son’s hospital bill, but Karnataka Congress did not do anything. We have spent more than Rs. 35,000 till now from our pocket.
