Baby girl found abandoned a year ago to be adopted by US couple

She was rushed to the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) in a critical condition. The kid had sustained injuries following a peacock attack A year later, she is all set to fly to Tennessee in the United States of America. This is the story of Anvitha, who was rescued on July 13, 2017.Anvitha’s story is a shining example of how government agencies can change the lives of people, thanks to the efforts of deputy commissioner Rohini Sindhuri, pediatricians of the district hospital and a pediatrician-turned-social activist Dr H K Palaksha who runs Tavaru Charitable Trust.On Friday evening, Anvitha celebrated her first birthday by cutting cake along with DC Rohini Sindhuri and pediatricians from the district hospital.Palaksha told STOI that it was a memorable moment. “When we brought the toddler to our place, she was weak and sick. For the first six months she was falling sick often due to infection.Rohini, who was aware of her plight, was following up on her improvement. She ensured that she gets the best of the treatment. After six months she recovered, he said.“Once we started search for prospective parents for her adoption, we faced a lot of problems. Indian parents who visit the trust for adoption are more interested in kids with good health, gender and colour. But she was not according to their expectations. So, no one come forward to adopt her. Recently, Cory Jaybeter Mann and Catherina Lee, a couple from Tennessee sought permission for her adoption. The couple has three boy kids and they were in search of a girl kid for adoption,” he said.“In the next 15 days, she will be flown to Tennessee,” he added.****quoteIt reinforces the belief that miracles do happen.
