Karnakata: Overflowing Cauvery cuts off 30 villages in T Narasipura

MYSURU: Trouble seems to be not over for people living in low-lying areas of Kapila and Cauvery rivers in Mysuru. They now have to make a detour of additional 15 kms to reach T Narasipura town.Rajesh, a local resident, claimed this for the first time water level has risen to this level. Thasildhar M Dayanand says the outflow from Kapila had touched 70000 cusecs on Thursday and it is expected to increase overnight. This is for the first time in its history of 33 years water is overflowing the bridge.The floods had cut off the bridge inconveniencing residents of 30 villages in the taluk. Even officials of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Company were closely monitoring the level as water was touched sagging 11 KV high tension wire at Sangama.
