“I was browsing the university website to find more information about the courses it offered. It is strange that a state university cannot maintain its website,” said Roshni, a researcher from Bengaluru.Murali Kumar, a city-based dancer, stated that, besides Indians, many foreigners interested in Indian music and dance visited the website. “The varsity has been without a full-time VC for the past few months, and students are openly protesting against the management. On the other hand, the varsity officials have assured students to look into the problem. Those keen on gaining admission to the university’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes were dismayed to find that the website was down. This is not the way in which a premier music university being run under the name of a legendary singer should be run,” said Kumar.Besides students, even officials in the Karnataka higher education department are growing anxious about the mounting problems at the music varsity .
