MYSURU: As many as 10 people, including a 15-year-old girl, died while over 80 others were taken ill on Friday after they consumed food served at an event at Sulvadi Kichchugutti Maramma temple in Hanur taluk.Police said two persons have been detained in connection with the case.The devotees have been admitted to various hospitals in Kamagere, Kollegal and Mysuru The devotees were served 'veg pulav' during the event. About 60 crows which ate the pulav were also found dead.According to the details shared by the locals with the Hanur police, the temple management had organised a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Gopuram at the temple. After the ceremony and a special puja, the devotees were served food."Around 12pm, all the devotees were served veg pulav. After having their meal, the devotees started vomiting and fell unconscious. All are rushed to various hospitals," informed police adding that the condition of 11 of the devotees is critical.
