Karnataka temple tragedy: Death toll goes up to 15

MYSURU: The death toll in Sulawadi temple poisoning has gone up to 15 with the death of a woman named Dundamma (55) at Cauvery Hospital.The woman developed complications in the morning and was rushed to ICU where she passed away at around 12.20 pm. She had five children, her two daughters were married to residents of Martalli village, which is close to Sulawadi . She came to her daughter’s home last week and visited the temple on December 14. She has been rushed to the hospital for medical help. Her condition was stable until yesterday and doctors had assured to discharge her soon.Dundamma’s youngest daughter Nagarathna collapsed near KR hospital mortuary upon hearing the news of her mother's death.

According to a relative, earlier she had shown signs of recovery and doctors there had assured of her survival.DHO B Basavaraj confirmed TOI that Dundamma died around midday and another person is critical at a private hospital.Dundamma,a resident of MM Hills used to work at Dasoha Bhavan . She had five children, her two daughters were married to residents of Martalli village, which is close to Sulawadi . She came to her daughter’s home last week and visited the temple on December 14. She came to her daughter’s house after having tomato bath(a dish specifically of only rice and tomatoes) which was poisoned by miscreants and collapsed after vomiting.Dundamma was immediately rushed to Holy Cross hospital in Kamagere village and then to Mysuru hospital for better medical care. Her condition was stable until yesterday and doctors had assured to discharge her soon.Dundamma’s youngest daughter Nagarathna collapsed near KR hospital mortuary upon hearing the news of her mother's death. She has been rushed to the hospital for medical help.
