Nagpur: The special cell of crime branch, dealing with cases related to Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, on Thursday made fourth arrest from Amravati following seizure of 391kg of ganja in two separate actions. The arrested accused, identified as Sanjay Gavai, was on Friday produced before the court which remanded him to police custody for seven days.It is learnt, the special cell is also tracking city-based suppliers who smuggle MD drugs, worth around Rs3,500 per gm, from Mumbai for customers in the city. A gangster from Tajbagh is the mastermind.Mominpura Takia residents Waseem Dosa and Anshu Ansari, who were named in the suppliers’ list which was published by TOI, have denied involvement in any kind of narcotics trade and consumption. Dosa, an electrical contractor working with PWD, told TOI that someone has named him to malign him or settle a score. Ansari, who owns a hotel business in Takia, too said that he has nothing to do with any narcotics trade. “We are businessman having clean background,” he said.
