Nagpur: A 35-year-old man is suspected to have attempted suicide by jumping in front of a train on Tuesday after his wife was found dead at their residence earlier in the day.Roshan Werulkar was found injured on railway tracks near Ujjwal Nagar following which he was shifted to a private hospital. His wife Mohini, who was found hanging, was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where she was declared dead.According to cops, Roshan, who works as a manager in a private firm, went for a bath on Tuesday morning while his wife Mohini was busy in some household chores on the second floor of their residence in Rewati Nagar, Beltarodi. After some time, Roshan and his father heard a loud bang from the upstairs and they rushed to the second floor where they noticed Mohini hanging to the ceiling fan with a chair lying nearby.The father-son duo brought Mohini down and rushed her to GMCH where she was pronounced brought dead. As soon as doctors declared Mohini dead, grief-stricken Roshan left the hospital only to be found in injured condition near the railway tracks.Cops said even before the medico-legal case of Mohini’s death reached us we had found Roshan lying on the tracks.Roshan’s health is reported to be stable while family members carried out Mohini’s last rites on Wednesday. The reason behind the drastic step by Mohini is still unknown. Beltarodi police have registered a case of accidental death while the investigation is underway.
