NAGPUR: The Nagpur University’s Board of Deans (BoD) meeting was adjourned on Thursday with only discussion on academic audit of affiliated colleges. The action taken report was placed in the case but no further discussion was held.Most of the meeting was consumed on discussing the implementation of academic audit of affiliated colleges. Several key issues regarding PhD norms and disaffiliation of 34 errant colleges were on the agenda which couldn’t be taken up because of time constraint, NU officials said.Pro-VC Pramod Yeole, who is chairman of BoD, said just one college among the 34 has shown compliance. The BoD members comprising Hindi and Urdu department head Pramod Sharma, Maths head GS Khadekar and management faculty professor Vinayak Deshpande were of the view that new colleges, started this year or from next year, should be exempted from the audit.Yeole said the next meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday where grading and format of the audit would be finalized beside taking up the remaining items on the genda.
