Worms found in food at Hotel Radisson Blu, FDA takes action

The guests who were staying in the hotel had repeatedly found worms in their food following which they filed a complaint. Hitesh Yadav, district Coordinator along with other members of Yuwasena Nagpur were present on this occasion. The activists from Yuwasena Nagpur also reached the venue following the pictures and videos circulated through social media. Nagpur: Nagpur’s upscale Hotel Radisson Blu had to see red in its face as the officials of Food and Drug Administration crack down on the hotel premises after worms were found in the food being served to the guests. Akshay Meshram, city coordinator of the organization told Nagpur Today that the FDA team took 4 hours to reach the hotel after complaint.

Nagpur: Nagpur’s upscale Hotel Radisson Blu had to see red in its face as the officials of Food and Drug Administration crack down on the hotel premises after worms were found in the food being served to the guests. The dignitaries of a pharmacy company IPCA were allegedly served food in which worms were found for straight two days – Friday and Saturday. The IPCA company had organized a conference between Dec 14 and 15 inside the hotel promises. The guests who were staying in the hotel had repeatedly found worms in their food following which they filed a complaint. A source informed Nagpur Today that the incident was repeated twice. First incident was occurred on Dec 14 when the representatives had gone for breakfast when they found worms in their breakfast. However then, the incident was sorted out as the hotel authorities apologised and assured that it would not be repeated. Subsequently, same incident happened on Saturday, when the office bearer of pharma company again found worms in their lunch. Following this they lodged complaint with Food and Drug Department (FDA). The FDA team had seized the contaminated food and assured immediate action against the hotel. The activists from Yuwasena Nagpur also reached the venue following the pictures and videos circulated through social media. Akshay Meshram, city coordinator of the organization told Nagpur Today that the FDA team took 4 hours to reach the hotel after complaint. “The hotel management first denied all the allegations, however we showed them pictures and videos. We have sought immediate action against the hotel authority and demanded the termination of hotel licence” told Meshram.
