Wife, paramour booked for man’s suicide

Nagpur: Pachpaoli police , labelling Pankaj Ambhore’s death as suicide, on Saturday booked his wife Manisha and her alleged paramour Arun Mishra for abetting the action of the deceased who had grave injuries on head leading to his death at Government Medical College and Hospital on December 10. Pankaj was admitted to GMCH after he was referred from Mayo hospital on December 5.Manisha was presented before a magistrate’s court on Sunday and remanded to police custody for one day. “We are looking at more possibilities and more serious charges can be made if evidence supporting murder come to fore,” he said. Mishra worked at a private finance company.Pankaj, who worked at a private firm near Automotive Square, was supposed to go out for dinner with wife Manisha on December 5 but they had cancelled the plan following a tiff between the two.

She later stated that Pankaj had injured himself by repeatedly hitting himself on the head with a stone.Pachpaoli police had initially registered the case as accidental death. After post-mortem findings, the cops said Manisha was the reason behind mental agony of Pankaj.Senior PI Ashok Meshram of Pachpaoli said the investigation is far from over. “We are looking at more possibilities and more serious charges can be made if evidence supporting murder come to fore,” he said.
