Hiwase tops govt polytechnic

Nagpur: Dhananjay Hiwase is the topper among all 12 department having 715 students of Government Polytechnic, Nagpur’s 2019 batch. Thakare said some students got job offers in second year of the course itself.Thakare informed this year the regional directorate had received applications for closure of four diploma colleges and three engineering colleges. The final-year diploma student has scored 96.75%, which is highest among all the branches. Five trusts have applied for starting as many new pharmacy degree and as many diploma colleges.In last the couple of years, the engineering and polytechnic courses have received poor response with over 50% seats going vacant in both. Principal Chandrashekhar Thorat said over 1,155 students were called for training by industries.

Nagpur: Dhananjay Hiwase is the topper among all 12 department having 715 students of Government Polytechnic, Nagpur’s 2019 batch. The final-year diploma student has scored 96.75%, which is highest among all the branches. The top score also earned him a gold medal and seven awards to be conferred during the 21st convocation on February 14 at the autonomous institute’s premises at Sadar.PWD chief engineer Ulhas Debadwar would be the chief guest while joint director of technical education Gulabrao Thakare would preside over the ceremony.Total 29 awards instituted by academicians, industrialists, and professionals would be given to meritorious students. Principal Chandrashekhar Thorat said over 1,155 students were called for training by industries. “Of this, 79 were successfully placed last year itself,” he said.
